Without Reserve

Without Reserve

Lord, help me give myself to You without reserve

To love You with all my heart and joyfully serve,

To labor faithfully in the menial task

Doing all for Your glory—going where you ask

I pray You’d keep my feet on the path You have trod,

Be the center of my being, my delight, my God!

And if I must walk through the school of loneliness

Or if I must pass through affliction and distress

Oh let them draw me ever closer to Thy breast

That my weary soul may find in Thee it’s true rest

Give me Thy endurance through Thy refining flame

Let me always hold dear Thy precious, Holy name!

Let me hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

Thou art with me through death’s valley and fields verdant

Through the wilderness I lacked nothing when with Thee

Whatever my lot, help me contented to be.

Every hardship, obstacle, and loss will erase

When I know as I’m known and see Thee face to face.

Went back to being “just friends” with Caleb Lewis.

Poetry, the music of my soul

Poetry, the music of my soul

Poetry, the music of my soul

With the gift I bless me Giver,

His wondrous character I extol

My God and my Deliverer!

He gives me divine strength day by day

Whether my task is great or small.

He is my Refuge, my Hope, my Stay

He hears my humble, feeble call.

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good!

Praise is comely for the upright;

Let all the righteous trust in His blood

And live life pleasing in His sight.

The longing soul He doth satisfy;

The hungry is with goodness filled,

Trials are His gift to draw me nigh

In His love alone I’m fulfilled.

Oh Father, help me seek naught but Thee

In my joy, pain, or solitude,

The riches of Your grace I see

I bow in praise and gratitude!

Abba Father, to Thy throne I flee

In Thy sweet presence I rejoice!

Be still, O my soul, wait patiently,

Let the bride hear the bridegroom’s voice!

Psalm 107:9

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Psalm 33:1

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

Psalm 34:8

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

John 3:29

He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

In my dark and lonely hour

In my dark and lonely hour

In my dark and lonely hour

I will flee to Thee, my strong Tower

My highest hopes, my dreams I give

I die daily, but in Thee I live

Oh preserve me in Thy mercy

When trials almost overwhelm me.

They draw me still closer to You

Behold, all Your promises are true!

“I will never leave nor forsake.”

My God has promised to undertake!

His working is a mystery

For He sees through all eternity!

His ways—more than I comprehend

“Thoughts of peace and an expected end.”

Oh what a comfort to my soul!

My God is still in complete control!

And “lo, I am with you alway,”

He’s with me and listens when I pray,

“Wait on the Lord; be of good cheer.”

He will strengthen me when life is drear,

In my dark and lonely hour

I will flee to Thee, my strong Tower!

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Summer nights

Summer nights

On a summer night such as this

I love watching the full moon rise high

Just to sit and watch the beauty.

How can a creator man deny?

When the moon peaks above the clouds

The tranquil scene lit in silver light

Peace returns after a long day,

Sweet sleep now is no longer a fight

The crickets chirp their lullaby

their rhythm a comfort to the ear!

Thunder rumbles in the distance.

It’s so peaceful lying in my bed here!

Until the dawn starts to brighten the sky

The songbird’s tune in hushed silence waits,

They greet the sun in cheerful tones

Until the noon’s heat their song abates

But once the sun has retreated,

Summer’s choir resumes their chorus;

Even the shrill tree frog’s voice blends

This sweet lullaby God made for us.

I’ve Found a Place of Comfort

I’ve Found a Place of Comfort

I’ve found a place of comfort

Of sure abiding rest,

In Jesus Christ my Savior

A Haven, sweet and Blest!

Oh Jesus is that Refuge

In Him all troubles cease!

They fade in His bright fullness

My joy He will increase.

His presence is my palace

To Jesus I will flee

From all the storms about me

In Him I’m safe and free;

He carries all my burden,

He strengthens me to stand.

He shields me from the blast

He sweetly holds my hand.

I will dwell with my Savior,

I’ll keep my eyes on Him;

He guides me through the shadows

He lights the path that’s dim.

I’ll never be forsaken

I’ll never be alone!

Even through the silence

He will make Himself known.

Be of Good Cheer

Be of Good Cheer

Oh be of good cheer

Victory is near

Trust when life is drear

Give to Him thy fear.

Withhold not your heart

E’en the darkest part

Satan’s lie’s a dart

Give Christ all thou art

He’ll use broken things

The ache—oh it stings!

But the pain He brings—

Is healed ‘neath His wings!

He makes no mistake

Your heart He may break

For your own good sake

All things new He’ll make

When you don’t see how

Humbly to Him bow

All He may allow

Can grow you somehow

Whether dark or fair

He is always there!

Oh, do not despair!

He’ll answer thy prayer!

Oh you can trust the heart of your Father!

Oh you can trust the heart of your Father!

Does God’s path for you seem hard and lonely?

Never fear, He is with you all the way

His grace will supply your need day by day

As you seek His kingdom first and only

Oh you can trust the heart of your Father!

Showing us mercy is His good pleasure

He will ne’er test us above our measure

The clay’s safe in the hands of the Potter!

Can our lot, howe’er drear, escape His eye?

Is His hand shortened that He cannot save?

The very life of His own son He gave

We have power in prayer with Him on high!

“In the world ye shall have tribulation

But be of good cheer, I have overcome”

And it’s not us, but Christ, the work is done

Freely all may partake of salvation!

Persecution, famine, peril, and sword

Cannot sever us from our Savior’s love

In Him we’re seated in heaven above!

He is our Brother, Friend, High Priest, and Lord.

Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Isaiah 59:1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

John 16:33  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?”

God of the Impossible

God of the Impossible

Once again, Lord, I commit my future to You

Not that its in my control anyway

Its uncertain cares are not for me to carry

I give them once again to You today

You know the desires of my heart, oh my Father

Bring to pass that which is pleasing to You

God of the impossible, nothing’s too hard for Thee

Every one of Your promises are true!

Some answers to prayer seem long in coming, to me

But God’s perfect timing is always right

Lord, help me wait patiently for You to act

You’ll perform what is pleasing in Your sight.

“Men who for truth and honor's sake"

“Men who for truth and honor's sake
Stand fast and suffer long.
Brave men who work while others sleep,
Who dare while others fly...
They build a nation's pillars deep
And lift them to the sky.”—Ralph Waldo Emerson
