The Trail We Blaze

Whether we like it or not

Each of us leaves a footprint

In the lives of those we touch

We don't know the full extent.

People will follow actions

More than they follow advice

You might make the poor choices

But they too, may pay the price.

You can say all the right things

 Your words may point the Way,

But your walk talks the loudest

Does your life lead them astray?

Each of us leaves a footprint

We blaze a path on earth’s sod;

What will they find at trail's end

Eternal hellfire or God?

Love and Obedience

10-12-26

 

Let’s show the world our love for God

Through our faithful obedience

We seek God’s delight, not man’s nod

We fellowship in His presence

Our prayer life will much richer be

With divine answers, joy, and praise

As we walk in humility

And do justly all our days,

How sweet then, our testimony

In trials or tranquility,

If our spirits rest in harmony

When we trust and obey only.

He Will Return

 

The scoffers walk in evil ways

Thinking not of end of days

They live after their own pleasure

God’s Word they do not treasure

But they, through willing ignorance

Claim this feeble, vain defense,

“All things continue as before”

But God their sin doth abhor!

Only His mercy bids Him wait

His wrath time will not abate

Swift and sure will be their demise

The Divine Judge will arise.

Oh let God’s children heed His Word!

The Master’s voice must be heard

Let us arm ourselves with His mind

Live righteously and be kind.

The coming of the Lord is near

Live in love and godly fear

Soon we will leave this early dome

And go to our bright, new home.

Quite the Opposite

 

9-24-26

 

“Too heavenly minded to be of any earthly good.“

A statement and sentiment I have never understood

Quite the opposite is often and sadly of us true,

Our mortal and earthly minds do not share God’s holy view.

God’s Word tells us to “set our affections on things above”

And truly we would if we understood and shared His love.

Everything in this life will soon forever pass away

Only the things done for the Lord beyond this life will stay.

What may better describe those who with this statement let loose—

“Too earthly minded to be of any heavenly use.”
