The Song of My Heart
3/26/18
Born a sinner to sin
I sought
Fallen nature my heart was taught.
Living I thought yet
I was dead
But for my soul One stood and pled.
Alive was He yet died
for me;
And doing so He set me free.
I am a gift from God
to Christ,
Though at His death my life was priced.
In me there dwelleth
no good thing
Filthy rags are the best I bring.
Oh Lord I can no
profit be!
Still count me not a cost to Thee.
Thou Lord would have
all men to see
The pow'r of Jesus Christ in me.
But I cannot to them
Christ show
If of myself I onward
go.
Called to things I
cannot achieve
Except by faith I grace receive.
So when through me a
work is done
Oh let it be Your
praise that’s sung!
May I bear unto
perfection
None but Jesus’ own reflection.
The greatest service
I can do
Is as a glass magnify You.
