Sweetly Jesus
Sweetly
Jesus, I am resting,
In
Thy strength, and Thine alone.
No
might of my own possessing,
Humbly
I kneel at Thy throne.
Oft’
the arm of flesh has failed me,
I
need Thy strength, not my own.
Emptied,
I wait yielded to Thee,
Thou
must fill, and Thou alone.
Sweetly
Jesus, kindly lead me,
By
Thy sure and strong right hand,
Though
encompassed by an army,
In
Thy hollow safe I stand.
As
a sheep led to the slaughter,
So
they brought Thee to the tree.
O
that I’d so trust my Father!
More
His goodness I would see.
Sweetly
Jesus, I am ready,
Even
now to die for Thee.
Secured
on the Rock that’s steady,
May
I live or die for Thee.
Nothing
of myself can I boast
Filthy
rags my noblest deed
But
in the cross I glory most,
There,
One filled my deepest need.
