He Who Calls All the Stars by Name

He Who Calls All the Stars by Name

All heaven’s stars have a title,
Numbered is every hair,
Not a sparrow is forgotten,
Not a love worth compare,
He Who sends the seasonal rains,
Bids the drought come and go,
And He,  Who loveth the righteous,
Rich blessings will bestow,

Every hair of ours is numbered,
All their sum God doth know,
Do we think He will forget us,
In our trials and woe?
Valued high above the sparrows,
Gladly our needs He’ll meet,
If we would but bring them to Him--
Lay them now at His feet.

He Who calls all the stars by name,
Holds my life in His hands,
He Who calms the raging waters,
The universe commands,
What harm is there that can be so great,
That He cannot prevail?
What reason is there to doubt Him,
Who for us will avail?

If we could see Him as He is,
We would trust as we ought,
But for now our faith must suffice,
Lest in doubt we be caught,
For a God so great and glorious,
I’d sing eternally,
Oh, how blessed I am to praise Him!
How great His love to me!
