In A World of Mixed Identity
In a world of mixed identity
People are upset and insecure,
Always afraid of being mistreated
What to call themselves they’re not even sure,
Each one has their own set of standards
For inoffensive titles and names,
No person must feel unaccepted
Thus we have “politically correct” games,
But there is in fact an answer
For the world’s wearisome illusion
People may find personal fulfillment
In Christ Who brings peace not confusion,
When we ask Christ to come in our heart,
He erases all our guilt and shame
And it’s gone completely forever
And He gives each of us a new name!
When our identity is in Christ
The world loses its pressuring squeeze
Because it’s no longer our own worth
But the perfection of Christ Who frees!
And all the things we once vainly sought
To fill the emptiness in our soul
Are now filled by the Spirit’s power
When Christ came and filled the God-shaped hole.

I can’t take credit, nor would I want to for this because the Lord gave it to me. J
