Faith

 

Faith is not a blind determination
Of our own will power to believe
Nor some miraculous talent or gift
That only a few from heav’n receive
It is trusting in the promise of God
Looking to Him to fulfill His will
By first seeking to know His mind in prayer
And getting our heart quiet and still.
Then latching onto the Truth He’s given
And trusting in Him implicitly
Knowing He is most able to perform
We can trust in His ability.

Faith is not all the strength we can muster

To see some deed or thing come to be,

But resting in the character of God

That cannot change through eternity!

The more time we spend in His precious Word

The more our knowledge of Him expands,

The more we know, the more we love and trust

By faith we walk the path of His plans.

Faith is not the fruit of all our knowledge

For even a small child may believe;

And truly the weak confound the mighty,

And the wise find Christ hard to receive.
